ABSTRACT

We investigate the dynamics of a biologically plausible neural network with inhibitory connections. In the case of large coupling constants, we discover a metastability effect by analysing some extremes of the mean interspike intervals. We compare our results to related results on other known models. In particular, we establish the correspondence between two classes of stochastic models for neuronal activity.
