ABSTRACT

The ground states and the low temperature states of the Falicov - Kimball model are studied in the grand canonical ensemble, for large values of the coupling constant and equal densities of the two kinds of particles involved. The two and three-dimensional versions of the model on a cubic lattice are considered.
